Give me your thoughts on the 12th episode.

I know I'm a day early but I might not be here tomorrow and I don't ever want to miss making a thread for any of the episodes. I can't wait to say the first new episode of this year.

Deathstroke has jumped the shark.

I thought I missed it

Sweet merciful Mutradd! I thought that title was a gag. I've got my DVR set anyway. See y'all when the review chit chat starts.

Good to see you again!!

I dont even know what to think. This episode was too awesome from beginning to end.

The new weapons are looking cool so far, too.

First scene is a ripoff of Carrie, and it gets better from there

Then enters the T-1000, the goth girl with a crush on Lance and the adorkable guy who wants Illana.

Then the spectacular fight scene.

Also, something happened in this episode that works because it's the exact opposite of what's expected. Usually when there's a hero with a secret identity romance with a civilian it's the hero's job to disappear completely (Usually with borderline teleportation) to get into costume, leaving the love interest to declare that the guy left them to die and worship the hero identity. Here, Octus takes control of the situation by first rushing Kimmie to safety then coming up with an excuse to get back into the fray before decloaking and getting down to business. She still thinks less of him for putting her on her ex-boyfriend's jeep, but that's the exact sort of thing Octus wouldn't think about so you know he still has some developing to do.

All things considered, welcome back only cartoon I watch until Legend of Korra airs. I missed you so very much.

You owe me an eyeball you bastard.

Thoughts? The whole episode was fantastic as usual. I like the shapeshifter and I enjoy the party scenes. The fight was creative as usual and seeing giant Kimmie was great.

That was the good.

Now the bad is just some nitpicks. I'm not a fan of the Newton/Kimmie nor Ilana/Jason(the nerd kid). But besides that the episodes was great as usual.

Another awesome episode from SBT! No signs of slowing down here...

I thought everything was cool, and don't mind Newtown/Octus and Kimmy & Ilana and Jason. Jason actually reminds me a little of myself...The comedy in this episode was great as usual ("I have to go to the bathroom") and the fighters were good too (the first fight with the chameleon in disguise as Jason was awesome). I'm happy that the whole gang is finding someone to be with, and happier that they're not all doing it at once. Hopefully this will be a progressive thing, and Ilana and Jason won't be going out by the next episode.

And the ending ruled, too.

(To TheDeathstroke) A pleasure as always.

Great note Wolight... I missed that 'cuse abstracts and I don't talk much.

My feelings are positive towards this one. Not much to add beyond It was nice to see the Kimmie\Octus plot followed up on. And that Octus' continued evolution is very interesting to watch. How far can this go... Please tell us in brlliant ways O writers of Titan.

*light bulb* Just thought of a hypocriical note about what Lance and Illana said about Kimmie getting hurt. What about their potential boy\girlfriends? The team will eventually have to go back to Galaluna and leave them high and dry.

Attack of the 50 Foot Kimmy!

reply

Yeah, that was awesome.

My notes:

Whoa, what's with how short Kimmy's pants were? They are REALLY pushing it.

Seemed like a reference when Ilana screamed, 'JASON!' when chameleon Jason was about to slash her. Nice.

Did the kid who was supposed to pretend to be Scary Mary get killed by the Mutraddi when it bursted out of the barn?

Deathstroke has jumped the shark.

reply

Did anyone else notice the two guys fist bump when they see Kimmy and her two friends hug? Awesome.

reply

Yes, I totally forgot about that until now. Hilarious XD

By now I've made it clear that I tend not to like the episodes that don't do much in way of advancing the main story arc, but if I'm going to watch a filler episode I want it to be one like this. The writing was witty and the pacing was perfect! There was a bit of this and that all were done excellently and in good measure. The villain? Diabolical. The action? Frackin' awesome. The drama? Effective enough to make us want to see how things turn out. The humor? A great mix of gross-out, subtle, and just bizarre. All with animation, sound, and music that is as wonderful as it's ever been. Then there's all of those references we geeks really enjoy like Carrie and Terminator.

The only thing that got me was the sexuality of the female characters once again. I'm an open-minded guy and even I felt a bit embarrassed watching Kimmy with jeans that dipped below her pelvis. The booty quake thing I understood given the context, but this didn't seem to have a point. There's plenty of ways that Kimmy can be portrayed as "hot" without involving so much anatomical detail. I'm glad GT is willing to push boundaries but this is a case where I don't see the benefit. There's already a growing amount of fanfiction and fanart for SBT out there. It won't be long before the internet takes SBT's slightly sexual content and perverts our beloved characters.

You couldn't stop that if you tried, buddy. No matter what the show is, someone's going to make dirty art of it. If you don't like it, than be thankful that you can avoid it.
