Totally on the right track

Admittedly I probably wouldn't have even watched this if it weren't for Eduardo Sanchez's name (I'm one of the minority that thinks 'The Blair Witch Project' is one of the best modern horror films), but I'm glad I did. It's not perfect, and didn't manage to scare me, but it was extremely refreshing to see a modern horror movie which falls victim to virtually no tropes or clichés, especially in its direction. It all felt fairly believable and naturalistic in a way no other recent horror movies I can think of have done. And thankfully, like 'The Blair Witch Project', the director has a good understanding of the old adage "What you don't see is inevitably scarier than what you do see". The fact that I heard people give that praise to James Wan for 'The Conjuring' shows just how out of touch horror has become.

So yeah. Not one of my favourite movies, but I have few complaints about it. More like this, please.
