I loved the books Round Ireland with a Fridge and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis. Both were really funny but also had a great warmth about the people he was visiting.

I saw the film Round Ireland with a Fridge the other night. I didn't even know a film had been made until then. Whilst I wasn't bored with it, it wasn't great. It just wasn't that funny and the love of the places and people he was meeting didn't come across.

So hopefully Playing the Moldovans at Tennis will be better.

Yep, I agree with the film about the Fridge, I loved the book, but the film felt somewhat cold and detached.

I've not read this book, so maybe the experience will be different.
