Why didn't the Brewsters get Social Security?

Mrs. Brewster, the Disneyland parking lot attendant whose son, who looked to be 11 or 12, already had a probation officer, said she was a widow. If he was the father of even one of those kids, she should have been getting Social Security benefits for those children. I wonder why she wasn't, unless he wasn't their father.

She also said, "I do nursing." I'm guessing she was a CNA, because no LPN or RN would say that.
