The budget of some families is way off...

If you're homeless, then your kids don't need cellphones, you don't need a car use public transport, and pawn off all the useless stuff like projectors and whatnot.

I'm just saying, some of them could get out of there much sooner if they did their budgets better.

exactly, we're supposed to feel SO bad for these kids, but if they gave up their psp's, maybe they could get a house.

Worth killing for, worth dying for, worth goin to hell for.

These families have a history of making bad decisions.
Plain and simple. Alexandra Pelosi, in perfect form, doesn't miss a chance to spin it into something it isn't: how the state, schools, employeer and God have failed these families.

It's a shame these kids are children of parents who make bad decisions. Hopefully, through struggling, these children will grow up to be something different. They'll hopefully be less impulsive where their parents were more impulsive.

UM. You probably never been homeless. You can be homeless with electronics, they probably had them BEFORE they went out on the streets. DUH.

You sound like a douche.

And you don't think if you're hard up and can't afford food or housing to sell it off?

If rent is 1200-1500 a month for an apartment, and you sold your PSP on craigslist for 50-100 bucks one time, how exactly is that helping you month after month with paying rent? Stop judging what you know nothing about.

Adults' stupid decisions and poor parenting shouldn't make you have no sympathy for these kids. It's not the kids' faults. They are born to the parents they are born to and have to deal with their parents' stupid decisions.

Don't blame the kids for their parents being morons. How could you NOT feel sorry for them?

Time wounds all heels.

you don't need a car use public transport

That does make sense, but there isn't a bus to every single location in California, let alone on a schedule that will suit all riders. The mother, for example, who worked as a CNA on the night shift at a local hospital. Who even knows if a bus goes directly from the motel neighborhood to the hospital and at the times when she needs it. And what about her coming home after her night shift? I would imagine public transport is more scarce at that time.

Or avoid having two to four dogs in a Small hotel room when you struggle to feed your kids as it is. They don't need those dogs and it just made their cramped surroundings dirtier.
