New California Is Sinking Though..

So I was thinking about this today while watching Jericho.. What happens when California inevitably sinks and the nations capital is smack dab in the middle of it? Would they move the capital? And if so, would it still be called the NCR even if New California had joined the ranks of Atlantis?

Just something to think about lol

An interesting quandry, but first I gotta ask...

What in Jericho made you think about California sinking? Been a while since I watched it, did someone make an offhand comment about California? I don't remember. I ask because I was playing a game recently (Deadlands tabletop,)and it's a game where California HAS partially sank, leaving what's known as "The Great Maze," a series of steep cliffs jutting out of the Pacific making a maze of waterways. And I was thinking almost the same thing because after we finished deadlands, I started a new game of New Vegas.

Still the NCR has a military and bureaucracy, someone would establish a capital somewhere, it would only be a matter of time.

Sorry for the late reply.

Its been afew months since I saw Jericho, but I believe that one of the factions capitals lies in California, same as with New Vegas. After that I just began to wonder based off of scientific study what they plan to do once the capital inevitably sinks into the ocean. California would be a horrible place for any type of building thats supposed to be the longterm representative for a nation. Thats interesting you'd start NV right after Deadlands too, I dont think many others put together this connection.

Used to play a little Deadlands back in the day. Had completely forgot about it, may have to make a visit.

Well in Deadlands when California falls, it seems only to come in about halfway. Several cities are still there. Not that Deadlands is any scientific indication of what would happen in a "California sinks" situation, but if the NCR capital is far enough east it wouldn't be much of a problem I'd guess.
