should take place during a nuclear winter.

Sounds interesting. Where would/should or be set? I heard a rumor of up around the Commonwealth area.

It would have to be set not long after the Great War then surely? I think any nuclear winter that might have occured has pretty much gone by the time of the previous games.

It might be interesting to see the Wasteland as survivors first start emerging from Vaults and other shelters to rebuild, repopulate, rape, pillage, mutate, and conquer. Because war...war never changes.

One of the game devs for Obsidian wanted to make a Fallout game set in Europe during the Resource Wars - that's the conflict that led up to the Great War - which would have been an interesting change of scenery.

I think it's more likely the next game will advance chronologically from the events of New Vegas, though, and probably be set around the same area, or possibly go back in the Capital Wasteland. I just hope whatever game they make has working bikes and cars in it this time.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Fallout set in postapocolyptic London... think it would be cool. You could have a mesh of European settlers plus maybe a UK branch of the Steel.

I've always thought that the lower mid-west or the southeast would make for decent Fallout fare. Some pretty remote areas would be highly affected (locations or suspected locations of silos) there's plenty of area for vaults, and... Some of that area was fairly primitave before the missiles flew. And a lot of that area would be fairly untouched. It would be pretty cool to find large, advanced scientific communities on the former sites of remote midwestern universities or tech-schools. Or find a group of vault dwellers who emerged to be enslaved by mutated former hillbillies.
