This board is dead... thought I'd start a series 2 opinion thread.

So how do we feel about series 2?

I think Simon's become more confident as an actor, he seems to be enjoying himself this time round.

I love the direction Clive's gone - his slight friendship with Simon, the way he refers to Tanya as "Mum" to Simon, like Simon's still a child, the way he still uses the downstairs toilet as his "office", his outbursts and Simon's unnerved reactions "Clammy Clive!"

I miss Geoffrey Hutchings though - I thought he was a great calming element to the mostly hysterical family.

Also, maybe Liz has gone a bit too wacky? I get that it's the pressure of her split from Barry (a nice edition to the cast), but I preferred the slightly calmer version of last series I think.

Overall I think this series is as good as the first, although I prefer the first one purely because of Grandpa. Not sure I liked seeing Simon in his pants though, that seemed wrong, like his body should be made of clothes buttoned to the neck.

I love it. Last nights episode was painful though the one with simon's TV interview. Simon finding out that clive has no money, then lending him the money so that his mother will still marry him, even though he knows that she is marrying him for money. Also Liz forcing him to give £4k to adam, then keeping 1k for herself. Argh. I hope Simon gets some courages and fights back next episode

oh yeah and not forgetting his TV interview seeming to go well, but then the press taking his joke the wrong way and everything going wrong. *cringe*

From what I've read, a third series looks unlikely because Simon doesn't want to do any more, not that BBC doesn't want it back. The again, the ratings were lower than I expected.

I'm thinking maybe an Office and How Not To Live Your Life xmas special. Just to close out the series. That'd be nice.

Yeah, I agree. The office worked well the length it was. I think the way this series ended suggests it won't return with Simon how he is now reminding himself of the person he was when the series started, watching it online like the "the public" , it seemed to work as a sort of plot circle, if that makes sense.
