20 years on and the scene isn't half of what it was then

20 years later and nobody goes out, nobody cares about 'raves' the scene is dead. This film shows teenagers today a world they will never know as there too busy on facebook, shame.

The scene is well and truly alive and kicking, raves are growing bigger, harder and better by the week. You just need to know where to look. ;)

I'm a club promoter, I can assure you the scene is dead compared to what it was back then.

The 'Free Party' scene is still going.

The criminal Justice Act forced it all to go underground.

Hehe you have no idea. I'm 40 so was there in 89 and have been partying ever since. It's certainly not dead. There's pretty much a free outdoor party every weekend in the summer, some amazing ones. The music has changed -- a lot more psytrance and forest trance at the free parties. Though some squat parties still have acidhouse rooms.

You just need to know where to look, be on the right mailing lists etc. Went to an awesome party in the woods in Trent Park (Middlesex) a few weekends ago. Awesome.

Links, baby, how are we supposed to find the lists for ourselves - loads of googling? I'm too much of a lazy pothead for that, so help a man out, would ya? I get invited to such parties all the time, but need to plan nights out in advance, of course, plus the music needs to be inclusive - NOT just for K-heads or some boring *beep* I don't do drugs, so it has to be objectively good AND (obviously) good for those with certain 'party accessories'. ;-)
One can youtube plenty of awful-looking bare-room, bright lights 'raves' / 'parties' but there's no women there. Women are one of the key indicators of a good party for me (music comes first though).
Many scenes are boring as *beep* around here (I live in London). Looking for something reasonably free, safe and inspired.

Saighton, you can't be looking very hard, as there are plenty of good events of the type you crave going on in London.
