Why so many trains?

I really enjoyed the movie, but why so many trains at one camp?

They also seemed to use the trains more like small cars. They drove them for short trips into the forest, around the camp, etc.

Also, several off errors of fact (dual tracks in Siberia?), but overall a great film.

There were Four trains as far as I could tell, one was lost in 1941(the Gustav) in the woods after the bridge was washed out that Gnasha fixed later on, it was replaced by the AU Model that the camp used and the third was one that the camp next over used and the fourth I believe is the FSHM model which Fishman rode in on.

They also used the hand cart, but during off hours theres no reason not to have used the trains for small trips likely several km/miles into the woods, since steam engines especially for a lumber camp are cheap to run.

The Trans-Siberian had finished the second track by the end of the first world war, with that said, there were hundreds of secondary tracks added by the end of world war two going to cities, towns and camps.
