Not every star has a charmed life

And its nice that Carrie shares hers with us, again. Wishful drinking reminds me of a Album cover from comic Steve Martin back in the day. It was called, "Comedy Is Not Pretty". The cover and title made me laugh but listening to Steve Martin, you knew there was more behind his stand up comedy than being funny, which took much outa him. This too was not pretty, but you had to chuckle along with Carrie's telling of her life - so far.

Acting is not pretty, its hard work. It's hard to make money for others and have that dependent upon your talent. Maybe you can deal, maybe you can't. It'll catch up with you in some way - through addictions: sex, drug, FOOD, alcohol...just like everybody else...but..maybe..times 100. That's what she wants you to know...and have a bit of humor about it. Feel sorry for her? Yes...or no. It's hard being the "star" of anything, and living under your parents who were also stars too...? What pressure. Gain weight and/or get old as everyone does...? What pressure to "be the same forever".

yeah, we love the entertainment industry and those that entertain us. But every now and then we forget they are just the same as us. A great deal of them do NOT have "millions" in their bank accounts - hence why they keep working in many instances. They work..just like us. Difference is, we're not in the spotlight when we work as much as these folks are.

But when its all said and done, we're all the same. At least we should have enough compassion to see such a thing. It's nice that someone who comes from real Hollywood generations of celebrity comes along to remind us all of that.

"They're NOT role models - unless you idolize greed and tramps."

Well put! Carrie honestly relates her whole life as a child of celebrities and then a celebrity herself, and it's not all glitter and accolades...done in a very witty, "that's how it is for me", accepting and getting over it way. I like to think that this performance was therapeutic for her...just getting it out there and allowing herself to move on. I was captivated by her the whole time and hope for the best for her going forward. Great in all ways to me.
