Fisher is more than a little mad

And her tales aren't all that funny.

She's WAY too full of herself to be very funny. It should have been called: "not my fault!" One viewing was one too many for me. If she's drug-free, maybe she should try being carb-free. Couldn't hurt. She's much better in print.

I have to respectfully disagree. I found many funny moments, and admire her intelligent wit and honesty. You won't find many celebrities who would paint a picture of their lives so honestly and so pitifully yet so overcoming and accepting as this. This is her life, however F'd up it has been...and she accepts and embraces it without resentment or seeking sympathy. She comes across to me as a very strong woman who doesn't give a F what anyone thinks about her or her family history. I admire her more after seeing this.

Agreed! It's better to take the piss out of yourself before anyone else can :)

I thought it was hilarious and I loved all the talk about her family.

And she's actually lost a lot of weight--http://tinyurl.com/px7n7sq

I can see both points.
The movie painted a broad picture of the people who make up Hollywood
and who are our well thought of celebrities ... that now the whole country
is following. Look at all the shows about celebrities and the stories online.
It kind of makes you sick, but Carrie showed at least some of it. That
took guts.
On the other hand this movie was self-indulgent and not really that moving.
Maybe too much would have been too much, but some of the moments were
thoughtful. I do think she cares a lot about what people think of her though.
Maybe her point is that a really messed up person who has made nothing
but mistakes is still a person worthy of love and redemption.
And yes, most celebrities and most of everyone else are all about image
and covering their real self up. Who knows if what we saw was the real
Carrie.
Entertaining but not all that insightful. I rate it after just seeing it as a
4 or 5 out of 10. Not the kind of movie you need to see or is all that
great, but something with some weight and meat to it worth watching.
That is a piece of work.

If telling people the truth gets you into trouble then Carrie Fisher is the world's funniest trouble-maker.

I fell in love with her in 1977 (at age 8) and 37 years later (age 45) I am still in love with her beauty and her humor, honesty and DGAF attitude.

Rock On Carrie!!!

reply

I am not sure, but I think that DGAF attitude is really a give lots of F's but I have been so disappointed that I gave up. This was entertainment based on her celebrity and family, but I am not sure how honest or deep it was. Carrie was given all she had because of who she was and her family. I think the best thing, the real gift was to let people see that. I like stories that bust open myths, and I wonder how many Carries there are out in the world that do not have famous parents, that do not get to go to drama school in London, or get a boost up because of famous parents, or don't get to become a movie icon? This Carrie did something to make her deserve it, that is what she did in my opinion.
