Question about what happened to Ms. Fisher at the end?

I thoroughly enjoyed and, as a woman of 52 with many of my own troubles behind me, appreciated the hell out of Carrie Fisher. Anyway, to the point, during the performance it seems that she has some trouble, perhaps back trouble? And then at the end she is driven off in an ambulance. Does anyone know what happened?

Thanks for any help!

I thought it was just a goof, commenting on all the other times in her fairy-tale life she's been hauled off by the men in white. Especially when the Jesus-looking guru dude got in the ambulance with her.

I just saw this last night and I'm pretty sure it was a spoof. The ambulance was a joke (most stars are whisked away to cars or limos but Carrie--an ambulance!).

I agree that it was just part of the show...a great punchline to all that went before in the show.

We all know how it turned out kid, and it's just sad.

Get the facts first - you can distort them later!

Its very sad.

Carrie Fisher was overweight in this performances, but at least she was herself. That's why I like this so much.

Since then, she's lost a ton of weight, and had some terrible cosmetic surgery, all so she can appear in more SW films.

I can't help but think that the radical weight lost might have adversely affected her health. The hideous face job is just embarrassing and one of the worst I've ever seen.

Carrie was, at the end of the day, a victim of Hollywood.

I wish these aging Hollywood actresses would realize these cosmetic procedures only make things worse.

Think about all the pressure they get from agents, producers and "friends".

I'm sure someone is always needling them about how just a "little nip" or a "little tuck" won't hurt, it will jumpstart your career!

reply

I thought Carrie Fisher was smarter than most. But, you're right about the pressure.
