why is this called a comedy?

first of all I have to say that i enjoyed this as a good drama movie. but this is far away being a comedy?

Perhaps you are not quite familiarized with argentine comedy, but its deeply marked by quite a darkly tone.

Because it has genuinely funny moments. At least for me, and many other people.

If it's not your cup of tea, that's one thing. I personally despise Adam Sandler's films, but I recognise they are comedies.

I would agree with you, I laughed out loud at several moments. I too am not a fan of big blockbuster comedies like Adam Sandler. This was much more subtle.

The movie has his 'funny moments', but I won't consider it to be a comedy at all.

Even more, when I ended watching it, I thought it missed the chance of being funny, could have been an excelent plus, and it would fit very well, like those 'funny moments' did.

I would call it a comedic drama.
