My life, my nightmare.

Why did I have such an urge to punch the mother in the face? Maybe it was that smile on her face as she told the story of her daughters sexual assault. She never even married that guy; the show should be called "Dumb B!tches" instead, the title is more fitting.

I missed this one but it's on again Sat afternoon so I'll catch it then.

She sounds like a real piece of work, that "mother."

I'll come back & comment after I see the epi on Saturday.

Cool!

Maybe it was just me but it'd be interesting to get another opinion.

I finally got a chance to watch this and wanted to give you my take on it.
So I'm baaaaack.

I can sure see why you would get that feeling, she didn't seem to broken up about it and at first I felt the same way.

I watched it all the way through and then went back & rewatched it, in segments, to analyze her facial expressions etc..
It was on the rewatch that I figured out a couple things.

First, I believe what you're seeing is partly a "self satisfied" look, part of that smug look on her face has to do with the fact they nailed that filthy (beeping) (beep) and he's serving a pretty decent sentence.

It was 16 years and that's darn good. Sadly, I know a woman who's daughter was repeatedly RAPED by her OWN FATHER! It started at 12 and went on for several years, YES her biological FATHER! When the girl finally told mom, they charged the prick and he only got 5 years! FIVE lousy years! That's pathetic & sick so the 16 years was a decent sentence, considering how easy some of them get off. We all know it really ISN'T good enough but with what the courts let them off with,,, it's better than many of them..

Next, she has one of those nervous grins/half smiles on her face. Whether she's nervous about the cameras or telling the story or is self conscious about her physical appearance, I don't know which it is but that dopey "half smile" is a sign of nervousness.

Some people smile/smirk like that and some even laugh inappropriately, when they're nervous or lacking self confidence, from that comes the term "nervous laughter." So I think part of that strange smirk is her nervousness showing.

I can see why you were irritated by her and she didn't seem all that concerned but I think that some time has passed and her daughter seems well adjusted. The daughter has recovered/survived and done very well so at least the mother made sure she supported her through it and seems like she's still by her side.
So we'll give her props for that.

Anyway, that's what I got from it but if you still wanna slap her then I say have at it. LOL Just kidding.
