No it don't, I felt bad for him too, he was and is a good person, who just got involved with someone he shouldn't have. I can understand why Bernie killed her, be he still shouldn't have done it obviously, he should've just left her once she became too controlling.

real story is yes, he was nice but he was also embezzling. the day he shot her, they were to have a meeting at the Trust to discuss "discrepancies" in the account.

i watched a "sins and secrets" show about this and the real story is different...
He lied about her 3 times to the police after he had killed her, to try and cover it up...he also tried to blame her son for kidnapping her for money he thought was owed to him through the will, but the son already knew he was written out of the will...
He was embezzling and spent her money even more after she died, and the movie said he didn't buy things for himself, but the documentary says that he did.
He was involved in sexual relations with a lot of higher up men in the ton and that was the real reason the trial was moved, not because people felt sorry for him...
Yeah she was mean, but he did what he had to do to basically spend her money as his own, he wasn't a good person at all, unless you completely redefine the word "good"
