Why was all the stuff returned?

After Bernie's arrest, all his donations and gifts were seized. The Boot-Scootin' business closed down? I don't understand why those things would happen.

Seriously? You don't understand? Bernie was giving away STOLEN MONEY.

I understand it was all the old lady's money (which he had Power of Attorney to use) and that he was donating it all over town, but it seems a judge should have not taken possession of the new church wing and the Boot-Scootin' business, since they were innocent victims...but maybe I don't understand everything about the law.

Hey, let's BOTH keep in mind that this is a movie, and movies have a habit of taking immense liberties with the truth. Bur bobquack, if you have followed the Bernie Madoff case, the trustees have, for years, been "clawing back" disbursements, to the tune of billions of dollars.

Thanks for your input.

Didn't they say they he paid for everything in cash? Would seem that it would be hard to narrrow down exactly where all the cash cane from exactly so it is odd that everything was immediately taken away. But I guess he did it all clearly in her name?
