Cylon Evolution Question?

So? When did the Cylons incorporate the scanning eye and use the Centurion model that had the Greek-like helmet? I thought they were developed by Caprican scientists and were the prominent Cylon soldiers in the first Cylon war.

Far as I know, it and the helmet have always been there ever since the prototype cylon. The later head types seem to be later designs from some time in the silent 40 odd years before Nu BSG begins.
