I've seen worse.

I got this DVD at the dollar store so I don't really feel cheated. I watch a lot of low-budget horrors and I have definitely seen worse. There were certainly moments when I thought I wouldn't be able to sit through it, but the monster effects kept me in my seat. For a short movie, a lot of scenes felt way too long and the dialogue was very repetitive and obvious at times. I think the script was one of the biggest weakness, not in concept, but in character development and dialogue. If it wasn't trying so hard to be funny or sexy or explain what we already knew, I think the film would have been a lot stronger overall. This came across as a fairly amateurish production in every respect, except for the special effects which were really very 'Alien'-esque. I laughed, and not because the effects were bad, but because they made me really happy. I'm always pleased to see practical effects on screen instead of computer-generated creatures. A lot of love went into these parasites. I don't know what the hell was going on with the sound or the dialogue, but this is a movie to be seen and not heard. Unfortunately the lighting was so flat at times that the characters were actually scripted to describe the lighting in the room on occasion. For the cool location and monster effects, I got my money's worth and don't entirely feel I wasted my time with this film.

Side note: I think this filmmaker could really benefit from using union actors in future productions.
