How do you explain the phone calls?

So, most of the things that Wilfred does can easily be explained as Ryan doing it and just not remembering, like sending people emails or whatever. But, how can this possibly explain him getting phone calls from Wilfred and other people recognizing that the phone is ringing? It's not like Ryan can be in two places at once calling himself. I can't remember all the instances of this, but the one I do remember is when he is meeting with his dad in S4E1. His phone rings and he sees it's Wilfred calling, and his dad asks if he needs to take it. I guess it's possible that he's just getting calls from someone else and his mind is seeing it as Wilfred.

Here's the thing. A lot of your questions vanish when you realize Ryan wasn't crazy. The fact that he had the EXACT "delusion" his father had and that his mother had a very similar "delusion" suggests they aren't crazy. Since people don't generally experience the same delusions, even within families.

He isn't crazy. He is the chosen one. Hopefully he'll find real happiness.

Wilfred is a dog god, or at least Wilfred and Ryan think he is. If he is, he's still just in the body of a dog, and can't use a phone. He tries to call 911 and can't.

I only noticed one other person notice the phone call. The doctor doing the experiment on Ryan. I wondered about that too. But Ryan could have also imagined the doctor asking "do you want to take that" when the phone rings. He doesn't actually answer the phone.
