Wilfred is not in Ryans head.

Sneakers, the dog knew kristen was the one who led to him drowning.

The Milk going rotten,

Theese are things ryan could not have known

Wilfred calls bruce a snake on more then one ocasion{the devil in the garden of eden, was a snake the animalifcation of temptation.

Tobin bell at the end says hes on medication, could that medication just be blocking his real visions, by blocking the way the brain processes information,
most likely theese medications are antipsychotics,

During one of his dreams/visions ryan saw a bunch of pictures on the walll similar to how police forces work investigations, there was a picture of adam, with an X through it,someone he would not have known{i have three episodes left of the aussie version, and to becompletely honest besides the lack of censorship on the aussie version, and the cop out explaination, i think i like the american version better, which ususally isn't the case for most foreign films and television adapted to american screens.

Hopefully they do continue with a movie, or netflix continues it, and pulls a fast one on us and cleverly explain why wilfred wanted ryan to think he was insane,

also jenna is a horrible person, and has no real reason to be with drew,

I wrote up a brief theory that Wilfred is a pooka. Which means it was all real, and in a way would be a god, or at least could seem to be a god.

Ryan wasn't crazy and neither was his father. They were just both in contact with a pooka. Which to everyone else would appear insane.

Either wilfred is a dog, but only ryan can see him in another form, but then this is disproven by the fact people dont put bongs in their doggies bag, say nothing when their dog is drinking a beer.

So clearly its in his mind.
Either its happening over months/years
Or its caused by the pills
Or its a dream

i do believe it is all in his head. you have not thought of schizophrenia.

the symptoms are all there....and it makes sense to me, and i'm nuts so i really can see it is all in his head.

As for sneakers and the milk spoiling, when you are in a schizophrenic episode or a "break" from reality (when your schizophrenia is at your worst) your sixth sense is heightened. You perceive things differently, sometimes having multiple de ja vu's and this is because your brain is literally going a mile a minute. that is why a lot of people in this stage of the illness won't sleep. they CAN'T.

So no, ryan didn't SMELL the milk spoiling, instead his brain was so fired up it quickly "guessed" it was about time the milk would be going bad and it happened to be correct.

And as for sneakers, ryan said he was always so careful about closing the gate and he seemed very confident in that. AND if he REALLY did leave the gate open, there would have been no doubt in his mind that he had caused sneakers' death. But there was doubt....lots of it and the truth is he just figured it out for himself, with help from his hallucinations (wilfred).

The mind is powerful. It can fool you, or tell you the truth about things. It can harm you, or save you. Ryan is a schizophrenic, at the mercy of his broken mind.

In the pilot, Wilfred tells Ryan their mind is one in the same. That means it's all Ryan's head. Watch s01e01.
