Good reviews throughout yet 2.5 rating???
What gives? If it`s so bad, please let others know why, I`ve seen nothing but good reviews on here...
shareI literally just came here to ask the same question. Doesn't make sense. The only thing I can think of is that people that hate MMA are down-voting it.
Anyway, I'm going to watch it so I'll post something when I've seen it.
Heh. Me, too! I was wondering the same thing and came here to see if somebody might have some insight into what's so bad about it. I kind of wanted to see it but not if it's as awful as its score suggests. Any other opinions would be much appreciated.
shareIt's worth watching. It follows a few fighters but then gets better towards the second half of the documentary when it starts to focus on Dustin Poirier. This is before he joined the UFC and before WEC. Interestingly what I liked about this was the promoter. It showed a good mix between the fighters and the promoter. How the promoter jokes about Dustin losing to make money on the rematch and making less money on bigger events. It shows the promoter doesn't have the interest of the fighters at heart. Haha. Nothing new there; but it's interesting to see the candidness of the promoter without all the smoke and mirrors. The honesty of that guy makes it a good watch.
Decent doc. I gave it a 7.

It didn't really have an overall point. No story to tell. just a bunch of yokels saying the same thing over & over & over. Lot's of tired cliches, like "fighting is a microcosm for life" and "you're your own worst enemy."
It didn't even have any great fight footage. I'm not an MMA fan, but I assume it must be exciting once in a while. Based on this movie, I must assume that MMA is basically 2 guys pulled off the street, wrestling, rolling around, & grunting inside a cage.
