Lucky

I was so moved by the movie "Lucky" I had a hard time falling asleep later that night after watching it. First the movie started out with a kid doing what a kid typically does playing but then the movie began to have real movement with grandma killing the chicken, trying to force him to do so also up until he went to stay with his mom's old boyfriend. My heart was concerned the whole time for a kid traveling alone, no regular meals, no hygiene, abusive family members and rejection by a school system based on lack of funds. Not only did I fret for Lucky in the movie, I began to fret for children all over the world who might be trully living in circumstances such as this. The movie was so compelling I went online to see if this was based on a true story. Exhausted emotionally, somewhat disappointed in the inconclusive ending, I chose to believe the old boyfriend would take care of this kid in spite of the fact he wasn't his child.

I feel your anguish too. Beautiful, heartbreaking, yet hopeful story of a lovely lad who finally brings out the best in others.

I just discovered this film through Netflix. It's beautiful and quiet, but it speaks volumes. I wept throughout the film.
