Who's trying to get rich. You may be a materialistic child but most of us "haters" couldn't care less how much money he has. It's not about that. It's about a dorky kid singing crappy uninspired "music" and dumbass kids who don't know any better going so crazy over it that the rest of us in the real world can't go 10 minutes without hearing his stupid name. It's ridiculous.

Eventually those dumbass kids will realize that and he'll fade into obscurity. Us haters are just trying to expedite his departure, and hoping that something better replaces him. But that's likely not going to happen because kids are stupid as hell and wouldn't know good music if it slapped them in the face. No offense.

http://expressmilwaukee.com/article-22070-brian-wilson-and-jeff-beck-@ -the-riverside-theater.html

Saw this show a couple days back. Decided to go hear some REAL music played by the absolutely mesmerizing British guitar god.....JEFF BECK!

The man is an absolute marvel, and those that he chooses to play with him are among the best at what they do. More talent in his stirrup bone than Justin Bieber will ever have in his entire being. I saw him play once before at the 2007 Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival in Chicago. The man didn't say one single word in a set that lasted over an hour. Didn't need to. I was absolutely blown away by the way that man handles a guitar. Don't mean to be a little sacrilegious but if God Himself got a sense of humor and took up the electric guitar, he couldn't play the way Jeff Beck does. He's 69 now and won't be around forever. If you have a chance to see him play, DON'T pass it up.

Truth be told I was going to the show to see Jeff Beck. The fact that Brian Wilson (a certifiable musical genius in his own right) was playing was an afterthought. But he brought one HELL of a group of musicians with him. Their set was excellent. Al Jardine and David Marks of the original Beach Boys were also there. 12 piece band in total. Those old Beach Boys tunes are catchy as hell. The crowd loved it. But I did get the impression that a good portion of the people there, were there to hear Jeff Beck.

Getting back to the topic of this post, does ANYBODY out there think that 45 years from now people will still be lining up around the corner to pay good money to see Justin Bieber perform?? Be honest now.

To all you Justin Bieber nuts out there. Do yourself a favor. Sell your Justin Bieber tickets that Mommy and Daddy reluctantly bought just so you'd shut up and stop bothering them, and buy every Pink Floyd album you can find. You can thank me later.

Saw this show at Wrigley Field in Chicago last year. Nothing can be said to truly describe the experience. I will never forget it. 'The Wall' is a stirring and thought provoking piece of REAL music that actually says something. 'BABY, BABY, BABY' says nothing.

why thank you, it's our pleasure. i have issues with hating something without giving it a chance (watching it, in this case) but one time i heard my younger cousin put on a Bieber track in the car, and 15 seconds later i had reason enough to give this movie a 1. and no, i haven't watched it. i like my sanity...

Blind accusations and name-calling make for really poor arguments. If you have a legitimate counter-point, let's hear it. We say he's untalented, show us his talent. We say that kids are stupid for thinking he is so great, show us we are wrong. You must almost be in high school by now. Please, join the debate team. In the meantime, listen to some real music. There is plenty of it out there, you will leave Bieber behind in a heartbeat. Throw on some Pink Floyd, or Led Zeppelin, or George Harrison, or Eric Clapton, or Beethoven for christ's sake. There is so much beautiful music in the world and you waste your precious time (and money) on Justin Bieber.

Too all responders, name an artist that Goombas could listen too that would further enrich her life more than Justin Bieber would. Seriously, maybe she just doesn't know what's out there. I've often put forth that Justin Bieber is not a choice, he's a lack of options due to ignorance.

I'm a big fan of Rossini myself. Hoping to finally see "The Barber of Seville" this year. I saw Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" last year and it was fantastic. Can you honestly imagine people sitting around 200 years from now discussing the merits and works of Justin Bieber?

reply

[deleted]

You've just broken rule #1 of internet arguments. You talked about yourself. Once you've involved yourself in an argument, nobody is going to believe you because your statements are 100% unverifiable. You are most likely lying, and there is nothing you can do to prove otherwise. Also, your language completely contradicts your statements. You write like an 8 year-old, and you say you're at least in your 20's.

Your writing style is far more revealing than your statements so I'll continue to believe you are a child, trying to sound like an adult. My guess is you are a Bieber-maniac who can't stand it that most people hate what you love. Of course, I could be wrong, but don't tell me that because that puts you on the defensive. Falling into that trap is breaking internet argument rule #2. When somebody makes an assertion about you or accuses you of something, don't deny it. Either counter it, or completely change the subject (tactfully).

I'll demonstrate a tip for you. I'll end this conversation by saying flat out that I'm full of s%#t. If you do that, people will be far more likely to believe whatever you say. Anybody but Goombas, am I right or wrong?

reply

[deleted]

Won't or can't? If it is won't, then you really should. You may learn something interesting. Bieber will teach you nothing.

reply

Bye-Bye Goombas

Come back and we`ll have a proper debate when you get out of the teen stage where Justin Bieber is God, you take no account of his talent, but because everyone your age likes him you will just defend him anyway

reply

[deleted]

Shut the hell up Goombas84, you have no concept of what real music is. Instead of trolling and acting like some stupid pre-teen loser perhaps you could brush up on you're history and soon come to the realization that any tunes by Justin Bieber, Hannah Montannah, Jonas Brothers etc.. are utter crud.

So for all who think giving a 10 to that brainwashing justin bieber movie is smart, go watch freaks and geeks, that explain why we are angry about the era of bieber-like.
All the music i heard around bieber is just the sound of the money, you are on the way to lose the freedom of choice young girls and boys.

This is nothing but the same anti-disco *beep* that happened in the 1970's. What about all of the other pop groups/artists of the past, and why don't you remember how bad they were, and how most of you used to listen to them when you were younger?

I'm willing to bet half a toblerone that Goombas84 is the rapper from Rebecca Black's video - you know, the guy who wrote and produced it. Alternatively some fourteen y/o having a laugh.

reply

I really don't care if you believe me or not, but yes, this IS the residue of anti-disco/dance hatred-and it's getting VERY old.

Goombas is right-use your energies to do something with your life instead of bitching about how big Justin Bieber is and how that affects you (because it shouldn't be affecting any of you at all.) If you love other music so much, LOVE OTHER MUSIC and stop being so concerned about a 17-year-old boy who got lucky after a couple of years. Try to encourage local scenes in your city or town for young people so that they can hear other types of rock/rap/punk BESIDES Justin (and no, bringing back the Beatles or any old rock group is not the way to do it).

Engaging in 'Two Minutes Hate' every day about him does nothing but make you unwell mentally, emotionally, and physically, and will kill you eventually-what will you have gained from it? NOTHING. Just go about your way, and the people who love Justin will go about theirs.

[deleted]

This topic is awesome.

reply

In an industry that constantly whines about declining record sales and music piracy, is mindless pop that appeals to the lowest denominator really the answer?

Not really, but it's only one pop singer among tons of other singers/groups. If you make Justin more than he is by bitching about him, he will always be bigger than what you thought/think he really is. Concentrate on what you like, and then you and others like you won't feel so angry.

reply

"I really don't care if you believe me or not, but yes, this IS the residue of anti-disco/dance hatred-and it's getting VERY old. "

Nonsence, this is not the residue of anti-disco /dance hatred. People do not hate Bieber because he is dance music. Do any adult clubs even play his music?

The hatred comes from a back lash against two things:

1. Unprecedented levels of "unwarranted" hype, unlike ever seen before.

The difference today is the sheer size, speed and power of the hype machine. What has changed this? The internet. The internet is a game changer that can take the hype to Mount Olympus heights and create MEGA "stars" out of average at best talent. Far too often today, popularity and $$$ is the end all be all.

The music industry today is in business to make as much money possible with the least risk, and this new marketing model provides exactly that. So what if the record is disposable crap and sells less than 10 years ago, the upfront investemnet is much lower (in time, energy and money).

2. The constant dumbing down of popular music.

At one time POP music stood for popular and covered the complete gamut of musical tastes. Today pop music is synonymous with low quality crap geared towards a younger (and more female) audience.

Yes there has always been musical drek in pop music, but the difference is today, there is so little of the great music to offset it.
