Anyone else creeped out by?

Nope age is just a number and reality is age differences like that between males and females are very common. More often with a younger female looking for a more mature male. Hough was dating Ryan Seacrest in real life when this was filmed who is only two years younger than Josh for that matter. Males also tend to show their age later in life than females so in the movie casting sense there can be age differences in real life for characters meant to be similar ages without it being super obvious if somebody doesn't go digging for their birth dates. Not like Josh looks like some creepy old guy.

It actually makes sense. He's a widower with children, so he has to be around that age. She's a woman who married the wrong man (probably not a long time after meeting). So she has to be around that age. This way, she can start over with the confidence that not all men are evil.

To be honest, I never really thought about the age difference. But since you bring it up, I'm okay with it mostly because Julianne brought a heightened maturity level to the character beyond her 24 years. I got the sense that her character had been through the wringer (obviously)...and had matured beyond the years that her appearance would imply.

I thought the chemistry between Julianne and Josh was terrific - very natural and believable.

They def don't look 16 years apart. The guy lead (I keep forgetting his character's name) I still can't believe is 44 now, looks more like 28-34 in the film.
