No laughs in the trailer

I'm a fan of Will Ferrell, and I like the concept for this movie. I was planning to see it, until I saw a couple of trailers.

The trailers seem to have hardly any jokes, and none of them funny. Mostly it just seemed like an exaggerated pastiche of the TV/movies it's parodying.

I don't mind reading subtitles at all, but does the humor depend on understanding the Spanish and comparing it to the English?

No, I might check it out on dvd.

I'm not at all familiar with the genre that the movie parodies, so I think it might be lost on me.

do it. it's like black dynamite for the mexican dramatic action film. So perfect.

It strange that the movie was so funny, but the trailers sucked major balls. It not nice being tricked by trailers :)
