Idea for new Pilkington series

How about "Karl Pilkington: Monster Hunter"?

Up the Himalayas/Rockies looking for the Yeti/Bigfoot, going down in a sub under Loch Ness (or into the deep sea for some kind of monster), looking for legendary dinosaurs in the Congo, and death worms in Mongolia etc.

It would be the best cryptozoology programme ever.

Given how terrified he is of any prospect of physical peril and discomfort I somehow doubt he'd agree to it in the first place let alone last more than one trip.

I think sending him north of the border to have an enormous whinge at how cold and 2nd-rate everything is would be comedy gold.

Topping as an idea for season Four.

I'd love to see him becoming a cryptozoologist, but I get the sense that another travel show with him would be unlikely.

I like Gervais' idea about giving him money that he has to invest, or simply something like a chat show would do it for me. Something that he gets to do on his own terms.

Art is a lie that tells the truth.

Ah, well, I'm glad someone bit...

"I'd love to see him becoming a cryptozoologist, but I get the sense that another travel show with him would be unlikely."

Possibly... but at least cryptozoology's a new angle. Gets him out into the Himalayas and into subs etc.

"I like Gervais' idea about giving him money that he has to invest, or simply something like a chat show would do it for me. Something that he gets to do on his own terms. "

See that's Gervais' conscience getting to him. I knew he had one in there!!!

The chat show could either be excellent or rubbish. Can't see it being in the middle. It would depend a lot on who he had on. I suspect it would veer into Alan Partridge territory a lot.

Investment? Again... I think we've got an either/or situation on our hands.

Another option would be to get Karl to try out different religions. Although Gervais is militant atheist, so that might lose the sympathetic element...
