The reason I love this movie so much. *Spoilers*

Is how simple and easy it is. I love LGBT cinema, but some of the best and most well-known LGBT films step into some very serious, depressing drama territory. Brokeback Mountain, Latter Days, Lost & Delirious, Free Fall, etc. They all step into serious, dramatic territory.

This film... Everything just feels so sweet and positive and uplifting. The biggest drama in the whole film is Giovana feeling left behind by Leonardo.

Even the bullies are portrayed as not terrible people, but just bratty, immature kids. The scene in which they are messing with him and accidentally trip him, they almost immediately help him up. And at the end, when they realize that Leonardo and Gabriel are a couple, they laugh at Fabio for not realizing it when calling him gay the entire time. Even the bullying is played off as just mild pestering from people who aren't actually hateful people, but just teenagers messing around.

I know a lot of people may dislike that about the film, that none of the drama is ever truly serious or dark, but that's what makes this film so special to me. It exhibits such a genuine, powerful warmth that is rare in any film of any genre, much less a foreign LGBT film.

I don't feel enough for you to cry.

Oh well.

I completely agree. Many movies nowadays want to be the darkest, coldest, edgiest, most complicated and "intelligent" thing of the year.. without any satisfying catharsis, clarity or positive resolution. Don't get me wrong, such movies have their place.. sometimes we need to be perturbed to evolve.
But how do we feel after watching such a movie? A little colder, more disconnected, more anxious and craving more information so that we can overthink life even more instead of intuitively feel what's right.
We need more warm, optimistic and inspirational movies. It's good for the prefrontal cortex (trauma and stress damages that part of the brain) and society.

This movie is a breath of fresh air. It's a rare thing: A GOOD "feel good movie" that feels completely natural and authentic.
