Ralph Fiennes as Charles Dickens

Wouldn't have Richard Schiff been a better choice to play Dickens since he looks the part and is a very good actor? I think Ralph Fiennes is one of the best actors we have today, but I just don't see him as Dickens. Although it depends on what the man was like when he was alive, oh well, looking forward to this anyway since I find Ralph Fiennes to be a talented actor as well as director, he could have given himself a supporting role though.

Fiennes did a great job acting as Dickens! Of course we have to read his books in school, but I never really paid attention about the author's personality, till I saw this film twice yesterday!

Based on the few scenes I've viewed from THE INVISIBLE WOMAN, I think Ralph Fiennes made a very apt Dickens. In the makeup and costume he looked like Dickens but, more than that, his soft-spoken manner seemed entirely appropriate. Having read a lot about Dickens, I'd venture to say the real man was very much like how Fiennes portrayed him: shy despite his reputation as a sort of jolly, expansive, Victorian father figure.

I'm very interested to see the whole movie.

You so have to watch the whole movie. I think I've seen it like four times now! The last I looked, it was on Netflix's, if you have an account!

In school we only read about him, not his personal life and I'm kind of sad they didn't. The drama in his personal life would of made me more interested in his books as a youth!
