The plot holes are distracting because the movie sucks

The inconsistencies with why some non-human items are alive and some are not, the question of when these items become councious, etc. - this kind of flawed logic is typical for cartoons. Toy Story for example has the same holes.

But Toy Story is a great film; when a movie is entertaining, the suspension of disbelief works. I think the reason why people are so critical of this logic that is typical for cartoons, is that the movie is not funny or entertaining, which makes the plot holes much more distracting.

Are you seriously pointing out plot holes in a movie about a talking sausage and bun that want to have sex?! Get a life.

reply

This. If you're watching an R-rated cartoon about a sausage and pointing out plot inconsistencies, your priorities are seriously misaligned.

LOL what is THIS? All of it's already been said, but i'll repeat it in another form: a talking sausage is a pretty big plot hole in itself. How about analyzing Tom & Jerry? There's no way that could really happen either, totally illogical.

That is my point. When watching an actual GOOD cartoon like Tom & Jerry, the viewer suspends their disbelief and enjoys the show. I think that reason why many people seem to get distracted by the inconsistencies in this particular movie is that the movie in itself is not engaging enough to overlook those things.
