Missed opportunity
At the end of the film, the director could have made the reunion of Cheryl (Linda deMol) and Martin (PPMuller) in the Amsterdam-Arena into a touching and warmhearted scene. Instead, Cheryl, seen from behind, just takes the steps to the stage, and then they kiss for a while. In my view this could have been a fantastic climax (and final) in the movie, leaving the audience with an intense and warm memory of the film. The movie as a whole would have been rated/appreciated much higher. It would only have taken an en-face cameraview on Cheryl, smiling towards Martin while she came near, with some emotionally charged music in the background, and a shot of Martin with a moved expression on his face. Unfortunately, the movie now only remains in our memory as an entertaining comedy.
A missed opportunity.
