I dont think I stopped crying

Wow...I lost my mom to cancer in February, and although she was not in prison and she didnt die alone, watching this just made me so sad to think of anyone dying alone - especially if you have ever watched someone die of cancer. It is the worst process anyone can ever go through. I commend these prisoners for volunteering for such an important cause. Hospice nurses told my family and I that hearing is the last sense to go before you pass, and I'm sure these prisoners were comforted knowing that they were not alone when they left this world.

I agree with you 100% and can totally relate. I lost my grandmother 12 years ago to cancer and also had tears, hearing the guys breathing become so shallow and difficult was the most heart wrenching, but we were also told that hearing was the last sense she would have left, so we talked to her until her last breath. This documentary captured the true meaning of rehabilitation and paying it forward, these men could not take back the awful crimes they committed or the hurt that they caused those families, but to see and hear the remorse in their actions and words meant enough for them to gain a better appreciation for life, even if theirs would be served behind bars. They know that because of hospice, someone will be there to take care of them in their last dies, hats off to that warden for his compassion and belief that no matter what your sins, we do not have the right to judge, and no one should have to die alone.

I agree. Wonderful documentary. I didn't want to see this at first but I'm glad that I did. Made me re-think how I regarded those in prison and those who work in prisons.
