Spoilers - the ending and sequel

So he kills Lucy at the very end .. and they seem to be setting something up with Ezio / Desmond. Yet the sequel is said to not continue that storyline. I'm confused.

There's no proof he "kills" Lucy. If you were going to kill someone with a hidden blade, perhaps stabbing them through the chest would be more affective (hitting some more important organs like a lung or the heart). I think he actually stabbed her the uteris as either she is pregnant or this is to prevent her from ever becoming pregnant. I don't think Lucy has died; I believe there's alot more to her part of the story.

From what I heard AC:B was meant to wrap up Ezio's story but the fan response was so unexpectedly huge that Ubisoft decided to extend the story further and put on hold the true "ACIII" and a new Assassin.

No actually, it isn't. It goes like this:

Assassins Creed is about Altair's journey.

Assassins Creed 2 and the two games that follow it(Brotherhood and Revelations) are about Ezio's journey.

Assassins Creed 3 will be about some other ancestor of Desmond. Any follow up games featuring that same character will fall under the Assassins Creed 3 title.

SPOILERS ***

We find out in AC:R that Shaun (I think) went to Lucy's funeral, so I would say she's dead....

I'm from the future. All that you said was wrong. Lucy was stabbed and killed by Desmond. After doing such, he fell into a coma.

*beep* Off.

Ps: Lucy was not pregnant and neither did they ever have sex.
