it's weird how everyone is saying its a copy from the ben stiller movie "Meet the Parents". Yes because there can be no other movie with a boyfriend/fiance meeting their girlfriend's parents....okay.
It's such an open concept that no i do not think that this movie is gonna blatantly steal scenes from Meet the Parents.

I guess it's not possible for a father to ever like his future son-in-law in any of these movies. The father has to be over bearing and obnoxious. The fiance is a try hard and only succeeds in annoying the father. The movie will be one long competition of one-upsmanship between the two men.

Yeah the concept is open but why are they playing in "like" "Meet the Parents"?

You didn't know? Everytime the cast is predominantly black, it's always a "black version of___"

Do you think Meet the Parents is even that original? Movies about fiance/fiancee meeting and failing at impressing their future in-laws have been out since the dawn of movies. At least since the 50s anyway.

I would not call this a remake but maybe the same genre of the Meet the Parents.

It's far better than "Meet the Parents".

I agree, it is the black version of Meet the Parents. The characters are exactly the same, even down to the ex boyfriend who still has the hots for Grace. Even so, I loved Meet the Parents so I enjoyed this movie too, even though it wasn't nearly as good.
