Attractive Cast, however no laughs.

I tried my best to like "Peeples". It features a talented cast and the very beautiful Kerry Washington. And it was produced by Tyler Perry, and I admittedly am a fan of his. But...it just was not funny. Kerry plays the daughter of a Judge (David Allen Grier) and goes home for a visit. What she is not ready for, however, is introducing her boyfriend (Craig Robinson) to the family so she asks him not to go. But, he shows up anyway and finds out no one has even heard of his name. So he spends the rest of the movie trying to propose to his girlfriend and also to win over the Judge who wants nothing to do with him. I think Robinson is pretty talented and can be funny, and Grier is the same way, but other than the opening scene when Craig is singing to school kids nothing seemed to jive. S. Epatha Merkerson and Diahann Carroll also co-star. Toss in a couple pretty lesbians (Kali Hawk and Kimrie Lewis-Davis) and the cast is attractive, but unfortunately there were no laughs to speak of. Skip it. There are far more better films out there to watch. * 1/2 out of 4 stars.
