I agree they should have made a different trailer and campaign for the English speaking audience. "All star cast" would've been better wording.

The Chinese communist regime are becoming notorious for trying to gift-wrap its brutality in glory and glamor. Its rather sickening to be honest.
sharePropaganda and authotarian regimes goes hand in hand. This should not be surprising to anyone. If anything, propaganda in today's China is much less pervasive than during the 60's (not a compliment!). Most people probably would go see this film for the stars, not the political message.
