Why this movie is terrible

I love golf. I love Robert Duvall. I love hot redheads.

But this movie was awful. Why, you say?

The main character, who I won't even waste my time to look up his name, put on one of the worst performances I've ever seen. I don't remember him being this bad in Friday Night Lights, and he certainly could not have been this bad in that Fast and Furious Asian Drift movie.

It was painful to watch him interact with the girl, the boys from the town, and Duvall. And when he started crying I wanted to kick myself. Although he did have a pretty good swing; I could believe that he's an aspiring pro golfer. But my god was he a terrible actor.

Also the forced cameo of KJ Choi was awful. Not a single line? Probably for the best, he looked like a terrible actor too.

Terrible, terrible movie. 2/10.

Well I agree with your first line. I don't agree that the lead's acting was the worst thing about the film though. The over the top "hero" scenes were hard to stomach, as was the religious preachiness.

My thoughts exactly. Especially the bit about the redheads.

Didn't think the acting was terrible - apart from the 'bad boy' in Utopia. It was the direction and writing, both dripping with hokum, that made it nauseating for me.

I'd go a 2/10 too.

Apartheid ending was a mistake. Period - i am disappoint

Black did fine with the material he had to work with. The script and dialogue were over-the-top corny.
