IS SUPERMAN REALLY DEAD ???

is superman really dead according to this movie...because at the end, they showed a pic of yellow colored superman with the camera zooming out, he's fixing something. i dont really understand what happend? did he die or thats his spirit on the end image? and what is superman 2.0? if superman is still alive, does he come back to earth soon or long time later when all his earth family and friends are old or dead?i m just so curious!

reply

No, Superman is not dead. But it's almost like he might as well be - He's trapped in the sun forever because he's now pure energy. The last image in the film is him fixing the sun making it an artificial heart to keep burning.

It's quite a tragic ending but he's not dead.

And on Earth, thanks to Luthor decoding Superman's genetic DNA, Quintum was able to create Superman's son using Lois so Superman's work goes on protecting Earth through his son.

reply

so who is his son? is he called superman too does he know superman is his father?

reply

His "Son" is going to be the leader of the future Supermen. One who was seen when Superman was looking into the future with Lois in the fortress. She said that "He looked a bit like her father" indicating that there will be even more descedants from Superman and Lois' son.

And yes, I'm sure he knows who his father is because Lois will no doubt tell him.

reply

I think the name of the movie or comic should have been We knew him as the last sun of krypton now he comes the new son of earth"

Well All Star is an elseworlds tale but yeah, in the comics, Superman is trapped on the sun for eternity as well.

Reread DC 1Million

All star Supes is the ifsofactso prequel to the entire DC 1 Million plot...

He spends over fifteen thousand years in the sun, fixing it (rread DC One Million). But All-Star is not canon

You should read the Grant Morrison comic. It will be the last Superman comic you'll wish to read, because it's (imo) the perfect send off of our favorite hero and all he represents.

The animated film was alright and it does leave a lingering open end to the story.

This is a question that people can speand too much "fan fiction" time trying to answer.

In my version, that depends on the manner in which the radiation broke down his cells.

If the degradation were PURELY destructive, yes, he's dead. But there's an equal chance that (like other posters alluded to) only his physical form broke down, and he now lives as pure energy (kind of like Dr Manhattan).

Given the information in the film, and the knowledge that the yellow sun is what gives him his power, I would opt for the second option...Superman has now become an energy being and may or may not still care about the things that he did when he was physical.

reply

I took it as he became energy and his spirit was fixing the sun. Great ending.

Esta es mi firma

he didn't die. the film left out a key part of the comic series, where superman and his descendants come back from the future. superman gets to say goodbye to his dad, meets his younger self, and unbeknown to him he also meets his future self; his skin was golden as a result of his time in the sun. lois was right.

before we get started, does anyone want to get out?
