Why has it been rejected by FOX?

First of all, I loved this pilot. It's like my imagination comes to life.
But I also see why FOX rejected this series, but I don't agree with it.
They tried to put the whole story in one episode and that doesn't work.
The storyline needed to be more mysterious, keep something unanswered so the viewers need to guess what will happen next and with that you can keep them hooked for the next episode (and more episodes after that).

Alex doesn't actually die until the end of the first book. So we've seen him in one episode and then it all ends for him. I think he needed more episodes to develop as a character and to see his relationship grow with Lena. So you feel empathy when he dies, instead of; ''Well, a cute guy who saves Lena dies. It's not like he's in love with her, right?'' (actually in the book he is in love with her). They needed more time together.

There is also a lot of character development throughout the book (different kind of characters, not only Alex and Lena) and it's a bit rushed in the pilot. I get what they we're trying to do. Making people want this series, so they have to show as much as possible to convince FOX to pick it up for television and making sure viewers will love it.

No hate on the acting! The characters where perfectly cast and it stays true to the book.

Even though it got rejected, I do believe Delirium deserves another chance. What do you think?

Because the test audiences hated it.
