Alex is screwed at midnight

If the way they were talking about it is any indication, Alex's luck on a daily basis is insanely bad, and assuming that his wish only lasts 24 hours, then his luck runs out at midnight.

So the next morning, his family's going to have all of their luck back and Alex is going to be left with nothing, and quite possibly have his heart crushed by the girl he likes. Anyone else think that his next birthday is going to be a horrible trainwreck?
