I've been wanting to see this for quite some time but..

...will I get a chance to see it in 3D?
I am not a fan of 3D but this film seems like it could really benefit from it, should I wait for a possible cinema re-release/maybe eventually getting a 3D TV or should I just watch it asap in 2D?

Thanks!

A bit of a late response, so I don't know if this is still relevant. Anyway:

This film was intended to be seen in 3D, and if possible it should be viewed in that format, IMO.
However: even in 2D it remains an important documentary. My advice would be that if you're remotely interested in the subject matter, you should still see it in 2D. If you eventually do get that 3D TV, you can always "upgrade" and come back to the film fresh...

I've just watched it in 2D, and it's pretty impressive (albeit, totally bonkers, and I sturggle getting into the heads of the people involved, but impressive nonetheless)

That said, all the way through watching it, I was wodering "what would this be like with an extra D?"

I will watch it again if that option comes up. I'm not a great fan of 3D, I choose my films carefully in that respect. This and Cave of Forgotten Dreams are the ones I regret not seeing in 3D so far.

Yes; I would say that's unfortunate. Apart from Avatar and more recently Gravity (both of which I saw in 3D IMAX), I would still rate this film and Cave of Forgotten Dreams as the best I've seen in 3D.

There are a number of scenes where the 3D works well. The sequence where the camera is driven right round the circuit is particularly impressive, and the footage of Conor Cummins's crash had a theatre full of hardened bikers gasping.
