Juilius is killing this for me.

I like the show but the American actor (Julius) is ruining it for me. I can't stand everything about him. I'm American so I'm not being biased the character is just too annoying and is driving me as the British would say MENTAL. Does anyone else feel the same way? I compared this show earlier with BSG in an earlier post and in BSG they used Gauis Baltar in a very similar way but he was still pretty darn entertaining. Wouldn't this show be better without having to listen to his crap, without wasting time on his boring a** nagging?

It is perfectly reasonable to hate the character... I can't stand him too & I think you are not suppose to like him. Think of him as Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter, the one who people love to hate & hope something nasty happen to.

reply

Yeah but I wish it wasn't so easy to hate him. He just seemed so one dimensional to me. I mean you see Simon Cowell on tv and you love to hate the guy but you understand and agree with him sometimes. But with Julius, it's like "why hasn't anyone killed that guy yet?" lol

At 1st I too think he was 1 dimension... but turn out there something more sinister backing him (what's on the CT-10 really interest me) and... well it isn't so easy killing someone on a small colony without people asking questions, particularly a "respected" member of the community. lol (I have think of it myself when it come to Dolores Umbridge)

I just mean that sometimes it's hard to believe people like him exist because growing up people usually learn after a few beatings and life lessons that they shouldn't talk and treat people the way he does lol. The ego and selfishness of the guy is off the scale. I guess I just feel that he's so crazy that it's hard for me to buy him being someone who can actual walk along side the normal. He's like that wildabeast who's the first to cross a river full of crocodiles and usually doesn't make it.

Ya I understand... lol

I see him more like many politicians who say a lot of things to the public... while actions clearly questionable & we really do get to see a lot of them. There's a lot of American politicians especially those of republicans that makes you think "how the fk does that piece of crap get elected"...

There's a reason why Santorum is now "frosty lube & fecal matter"

he is just multi-faced and a good liar.
way too many people like this in the world,
and since i'm American it's kind of funny
that the really bad guy is American.

Brits I have worked with here are more
like him though! ;-)

reply

I think he is one of the few who doesn't bother me, lol

He's a classic sociopath, it seems like. I did think they could have kept a level of mystery around him, though. More interesting to wonder.

I just told my husband that apart from looks and vocal register watching Julius on screen was almost exactly like being in a room with a guy I used to know who royally screwed up my head and my life. I always sort of thought he was a borderline sociopath and maybe Julius has proved the point. :-)
