This was bad

Just watched Deadly Crossing. What can I say. It was just bad.

First of all the idea of combining two episodes of a TV show into a "movie" just wasn't working. The whole movie had a cheap feeling throughout and it was hard to concentrate on the plot(s).

What was up with that fight scene being shown twice? Was that intentional? I didn't get it.

Judging the TV show from this it can't be much better.
It was a cookie cutter cop show with no original idea or twist.
The characters were one dimensional played my male and female models who can't really act. They had no chemistry with Steven Seagal, who wasn't on screen all that much.
He seemed more of a secondary character.

Also every shot of Seagal where you can't see his face is a very obvious body double.

They just built a bad cop show around Seagal who clearly wouldn't bother being on set any longer than was necessary.
People were saying how good he looks in the promo pictures.
I just can't see it, he looks as fat as ever with his forehead glistening with sweat and his greasy red nose catching all the attention.
It looks even worse when they cut to a mich slimmer stunt double doing all the short fight scenes.

Clearly Seagal didn't bother doing much with his career after the little boost by Machete.
Just another paycheck.
I wonder how long he keeps on doing these movies.
He isn't doing much in them as it is.

A "cookie cutter cop show" with "one-dimensional" characters about sums it up. I gave it a go but suppose I've been spoiled by the likes of "Justified", "The Shield", "The Wire" etc. and really couldn't carry on with it past four episodes. Very disappointing plotting/writing and only interesting in so far as it showed Seattle in a less damp & dreary light than "The Killing"!

To me it doesn't even earn a "cookie cutter cop show" rating. It bores me to tears. Nothing is the least bit interesting. Not even the crime of the week aspect. (Plus, they're a super secret undercover unit except when a filmmaker needs bodyguards with badges, huh?)

Seagal looks like he's suffering from arthritis or something in the clearly staged fight scenes written into the most ridiculous places. And his calm sensei who gets chased by the hot chicks persona is laughable.

None of the cops are likeable except maybe Mason and he's a sidekick all the way. The dark haired female is a bitch, seemingly for no good reason. The blond is a dumb newbie who does stupid shyte that gets her into trouble she needs rescuing from. (And her jet black brows with canary yellow hair just irks me) And Radner is a combo of the two. An azzhole for no reason who does stupid shyte.

They're the folks who usually get killed at the beginning of the movie to give the hero something to avenge.

If you can't walk and talk/text at the same time, do the rest of us a favor and get out of the way.
