So who survived the iceberg???

Would be nice to know if any of the main characters survived the sinking. Maybe like in a list after the last episode? I don't know, something like to tie it all together.

I suspect none of the characters we met survived.

That's what would make it the most powerful. We knew them for 12 hours but in the end they all were gone.

But of course the writers pulled their punches. Don't know enough about the background on this to know if they were expecting a follow up few episodes to show the sinking and aftermath in a shorter season 2.

But this happens with shows that hope for a second series. They often leave dramatic events unshown when they are in doubt.

Because.......just like with the Titanic, the accountants are in charge at networks, not the designers and artists. Artistic endings will suffer if the bean counters want it left open for a followup.

But for reasons stated in my thread above, I think they all died.

I doubt that, if there had been some kind of an opportunity for a wrap, all would have died. Those in first class would most likely have survived. But that there was going to be characters as passengers on the doomed ship became obvious at least halfway through. Such an interesting angle wasted on a story with no closure. It would be like reading a book in which the final chapter had been omitted.

Everyone except Johanna (the reporter) and Kitty probably died -- Marc was in the Guarantee Group (none survived) and everyone else was in third class.

There's a 50-50 chance, IMO, that Sarah and her mother survived. When the call came for first class women and children to come up to the boats, many would not leave their husbands or older sons. Sarah's mother was traveling alone with her child so she would likely have gone up and might have been among the third class passengers who were rescued. Possible, anyway.
