But they didn't change the patch's shape or color, and his wife says he was Special Forces in the opening. Seems kind of silly to airbrush the patch considering those two things.
I must be either blind or not understanding what patch you're referring to. It appears as though the image is simply a low-quality image, but I can still make out the top blue patch as "Special Forces" in yellow writing, the black patch below it as "Airborne", and the bottom blue shoulder patch as a sword/cutlass with lightning bolts through it, all as seen here: http://news.webshots.com/photo/2806242480015838489xzgOEv
I don't understand why they black out all sorts of stuff. I'd never noticed that, as I don't pay that close attention to the opening credits. But I don't get why logos on shirts and hats are routinely blacked out all the time these days, either (I guess NOT blacking them out could be seen as giving "whoever" free advertising, but again, I see it as "much ado about nothing" and just an annoying distraction for the viewer).
As for Ruth, while I'm certain they're truly husband and wife, the last time I tried to look her up on IMDB (about a year or so ago) I couldn't find her at all (don't remember if I could find the show, or not -- think it was here, though). Anyway, now they list her as "an actress" and have it appearing as though she's "playing" Mrs. Hawke on "Man, Woman, Wild." Since these two refer to their 6-year-old son, I seriously doubt that, lol. Plus, they act like a REAL COUPLE to me -- especially the arguments. :)
I'd wondered which branch of service Myke had been in. Seeing that uniform clears is up. Airborne rangers is Army. He really does seem to know his stuff, for the most part, too. I've caught him on occasion with maybe a bit of sideways info on plants, or something (I know a bit about plants). But he's got so much survival knowledge and skills I'd certainly want him around if I was ever in a survival situation. Jeff Hayes
he was not or should I say did not attend ranger school, his patches are special force patch ( the top blue one) and the one below is airborn, a RANGER tab on a class A uniform is black and gold and would go directly beneath the special forces tab, speacial forces tab is the only tab that goes above a RANGER tab on both class A's and BDU's, he was a green barret and i would guess spent alot of time training other armies or militia groups around the world, that is what those guys do, train. though im kinda surprised that he doesnt have the ranger tab, most of the special forces guys also go through RANGER school, when you see the guys with both the special forces and ranger tabs, those are some bad ass hombres right there, though he does seem like a bit of bad ass and knows his *beep* quite well, those special forces guys are very intelligent also, many speak several different languages, i would like to hear his stories about his robin sage phase, some pretty tuff *beep* there
