Kangana's performance

I heard some people complain about Kangana's performance in this movie. I would like to set the record straight. I was absolutely floored by Kangana's performance in this movie - there is not a single actress in Bollywood who could have come even close to portraying the character so well on screen as she did. In most of the movie, she has to show explicit expressions and gestures, which she did amazingly well, especially given the understated and subtle performance she had been known for from her previous movies such as Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Fashion and Life in a Metro. Needless to say, some people have ridiculously stated that she over-acted: well, that is her role in the movie - that is exactly what she has to do and you would know that if you have ever lived in north Indian society around girls of the nature she is portraying; she is just portraying a character on screen - if you do not like her manner on screen, it is because you do not like the kind of character she is portraying. In fact, it only tells me that she is able to perform so well that you are able to feel her character and her act brings out the hate in you for her kind of girl. Whether it is the fast beat and energy-filled dance in the songs, childish gestures and expressions of a punjabi kudi or glances filled with subtle emotion - everything she does on screen is A+ class. You can just tell the naturalness in her act and expression from small things on screen - for example, when she walks out of the house in the song "Rangrez mere". Her attention to detail is mind-blowing. If she gets the right role, this actress has what it takes to get an acting Oscar for India.

Both you and Kangana have been vindicated with the sequel. ;)

Woody Allen is the only genius whose work I have seen and understood.
