I read all the mistake comments and didn't see one mentioning a cassette tape in 1969. Worst of all about this movie was the line when the girl says "Why would a whale act like this?" And captain ahabs response is "Why would babies die in their sleep?". What horrible writing.

shareI haven't seen the movie, and based on the comments here, I never will. Moby Dick was one of the best books I've ever read and I hate to see anyone spoil it. The 1956 version with Gregory Peck is not bad, but I saw that long before I read the book. Melville's novel is a masterpiece.
