How can a movie about the last Hirokin the last samuria, not have a single asian in the cast?? couldn't they find any? there is only 1,338,299,512 of them !!! I'm assuming the director writer is asian from his name but come on!!! Even Tom cuise allowed asian people on his samurai movie. Named the same.

You people just don't understand the brilliance Hirokin is. There are no other samurai in the film because they all committed seppuku after they were told they would be in the same movie with Hirokin. Hirokin is actually a documentary. So deep, like socks without soles.

shareOK, try 4,164,252,000 in 2010... Also, you want to get all serious on this. The Samurai were the warriors of Japan, so you want authenticity, that means only Japanese actors can play Samurai in movies, TV, and other media.
When it comes to movie or TV, I like things to stay faithful to source materials. But if you are writing an original screenplay then do whatever you want, that is called creative control. Hell they could have cast a black female lead in this and guess what... It wouldn't matter cause this about the principles of the Samurai. They were a Warrior Class, the Knights of Feudal Japan. If this was a period piece like Tom Cruise's Last Samurai, then fine, let the anger flow. But you are complaining that a script about someone, on another planet, far from Earth, that follows the way of the samurai, isn't Asian, just because he is supposed to be a Samurai?
Did you complain about Ghost Dog too? This *beep* get blown out of proportion every god damn time a movie is made. In some cases (like the last airbender for some things) its warranted, but in cases like this, its people bitching to hear themselves bitch.

The OP has a point. The movie was crap, but not because there were no Asians. I didn't really care for their middle eastern style garment. The movie was poor on every level.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I was not arguing that the movie was good or bad... but that he was complaining about the no asians thing... Believe me I was not impressed with this at all... I'm just sick of people making issues where their is not warrant for it.

If the movie explained why the world was as it was and how this genetic make up turned out to be what it was, maybe I can consider it - but I couldn't understand why it was mostly White and Black in a world where the Asian culture is obviously adopted. What happened to western culture?

I'm going to throw this out there. Just because something is "Asian inspired" does not mean it must be of Asian cultural decent and there for must have that. In Game of Thrones, the Lannister armor is, IMO, very reminiscent of Samurai styled armor. Does that mean we need to change the Lannisters to Asians?
Again if it was Earth or based on something that existed previously that had a set ethnicity to it. Then so be it. I would be behind this, but for an "original story" He could have had Black Vikings and Aboriginal White people for all I care.
