It's hardly an original plot, true. There are probably a ton of movies similar to it. Lost Boys, Near Dark, and The Craft to name a few.

To quote a comment made on another website; "What it lacks in originality, it makes up for in everything else."

It's a regular vampire flick a la the Lost Boys, but it's well acted and well directed. A fun film to watch. I gave it 7/10 in my imdb review.

Yes, it's pretty derivative. But the small nest of female vampires thing was quite interesting; almost the Twilight reversal.🐭

I found it to be more akin to Near Dark than Lost Boys.
