Unrealistic premise???
In real life the couple would have left after 10-20 minutes, the argument having climaxed in passive-aggressive exhaustion. People never suffer strangers for very long.
That said, I liked it.

And what were they doing there in the first place? Who were they writing that letter to, where they were describing the incident ad debatin the use of the word "armed"?

shareIt's not supposed to be a real life premise. It's exploring a range of complex character issues, with each character having their own reason to stay. Why does Alan stay? He's given multiple opportunities to leave and clearly feels he's adding no value.
I didn't particularly enjoy this movie, but it's probably worth a second viewing.
